1 month old pics

So I am awful about posting updates to the blog...I am just now posting 1 month old pics and they are almost 2 months old :)  well...better late than never right?!

Here are Cooper & Ella at 1 month old!  They are just growing so fast & are really blossoming!  It is incredible watching them grow & learn...you can just see their little eyes light up when they see & hear new things!  They are just as cute as can be!  Love them so much!

Ella - One Month
  • You are our chill baby. Most of the time, when not hungry or tired, you love to just sit back, relax and look around. You don't have much of a temper and we can tell you are so sweet.
  • You love to sit and cuddle too, but you often prefer to wiggle & stretch. You are quite the stretcher...before every bottle feeding we at least have to give you a good 5-10 minutes to stretch and wake up :)
  • You getthe hiccups and sneezes SO often. The hiccups don't seem to annoy you though.
  • You are right about 8lbs. You were 6lbs14oz at birth.
  • You are eating every 3 hours during the day and we are working on night stretches. Right now, about 9pm, 2am and 6am is what we are close to. Then 9am starting the day routine over again.
  • Right now, your bottle at 9pm before we put you down for bed. You take about 4.0 ounces right now. You are sleeping until about 2am, most of the time your brother decides that he is hungry so you eat then as well. Giving you a bottle is always an adventure, HA! You love to stretch & grunt throughout the entire feeding and you will not eat until you are ready!  You definitely eat on your own terms ;)
  • You are sleeping in your rock n play in mommy & daddy's room in order to help reduce reflux.  We will move you to the nursery to sleep in your crib soon :)
  • You love to be swaddled.  I think it makes you feel all snug & cozy!
  • You don't mind bath time but it is definitley not your favorite part of the day :)
  • You do pretty good at tummy time, but so far, you mostly rather just relax on your tummy than work.
  • You are starting to grin at us and it's so sweet.
  • It is easy to determine your cry.
  • You are ticklish on your sides & your feet.
  • It's funny but sad when you try to potty after feeding. If it doesn't go your way, you clench your fists and squish up your face.
  • You are starting to coo some.
  • You grin when we talk & sing with you. It's pretty cute.
  • You've been pretty wide-eyed since you were born. You have pretty eyes and you like to look around. We can tell that you already follow daddy and I when we move.
  • You hate to have your nose suctioned. Is there a baby that doesn't?
  • You get really red when you are mad.
  • You like looking at your brother.  We can tell you love her very much (either that or just trying to figure out who exactly that is laying beside you! Ha!)

Cooper - One Month
  • You are our firecracker! We knew this pretty early on as you have quite the loud, high pitched squeal, haha. You are a bit impatient, but we don't mind. We've just learned to move quick!
  • You keep us laughing...we've already determined you are going to be quite funny!
  • The only times you get ticked is when you get your diaper changed & bath time. You just aren't a fan.
  • You have tinkled on us and we just forgot to be prepared.
  • You are a good eater, but still the smaller babe (not by much at all).  You love your bottle!  You love your bottle and every time it is time to eat, you act like you haven't eaten in weeks. We typically have to take breaks while you are eating because you get going too fast and spit up.  While you are waiting your are moving your arms in a robot motion and smacking your lips as if you are telling us, "I want more!" ha ha!
  • You are weigh about 8lbs.
You are almost sleeping until about 2am, but not quite.
  • I think you have a little bit of reflux as you spit up some after almost every feeding. Actually, I wouldn't say every . Maybe every other. We try to burp you extra good after your bottle so hopefully you spit up before getting into bed.
  • You have spit up in bed, not to mention all over your sister! Makes mommy nervous.
  • You have such sweet eyes and love looking around (especially out of the window). You didn't open them much the first week or two, but that has changed quite a bit.
  • You are sleeping in your rock n play in mommy & daddy's room in order to help reduce reflux.  We will move you to the nursery to sleep in your crib soon :)
  • You don't really like being swaddled, most of the time it annoys you and you want/try to break free.  We can hear you grunting and squirmming around like crazy!
  • You are starting to coo some.
  • You do pretty good at tummy time, you work really hard at it so you also whine throughout.
  • You were raising your head strongly very early on.
  • You grin when we talk & sing with you. It's pretty cute.
  • It is easy to determine your cry. It's completely different than your sisters.
  • You hate to have your nose suctioned. Is there a baby that doesn't?
  • You get really red when you are mad.
  • You like looking at your sister.  We can tell you love her very much (either that or just trying to figure out who exactly that is laying beside you! Ha!)
What a month!!! It's way more than I expected! More love, more work, more wonderful, more tiredness, more excitement...and so on :)  I wouldn't have it any other way!

2 weeks old

I have been meaning to post for a while now but the time just keeps getting away from me.
I did want to post a few pics of the twins at 2 weeks :)  they are just growing and changing so fast!
We are working on getting our schedule down & at that point I am hoping & praying that the sleep deprivation will subside somewhat and I will feel like I have a brain again! Ha ha!

Here are a few pics of Cooper & Ella at 2 weeks :)
They love sleeping next to each other.  I love walking in & seeing this every morning!

Coop is saying time out mom, please don't take my picture!

Kisses for brother!

I will post their week 3 pics next week!

Have a great week!

Week 36 Update!

Today we are 36 weeks, 4 days...alllllllllmost to week 37!!! So close to full-term & so thankful!

Since we first found out we would be adopting twins one of our prayers has been that they would make it to full-term, to where they wouldn't have to spend any time in the NICU.  Well this Saturday marks the 37th week which means that the babes have officially made it to full-term!  We have definitely been blessed throughout this entire process!  The Lord is good!!!

Our appointment yesterday went really good.  The babies are doing great and have grown so much!  It has been really incredible getting to watch them grow each appointment!  We are just beside ourselves with excitement and joy to meet them...and to think it could literally be just a few days!!! :)  The birth mother was not feeling well at all yesterday though.  My heart was hurting so badly for her...she is so miserable at this point, she just does not feel good at all and is extremely uncomfortable.  I wish there was something more we could do to give her some relief but all we can do is be there for her and encourage her through these last few days.  Please say prayers for her that she would get to feeling better and that she would be able to get some relief through these last few days/weeks.

The twins are both still in the transverse position so the doctor said the birth mother is definitely going to have to have a c-section.  Unfortunately he cannot schedule a c-section until week 39 due to the hospital's policies he is affiliated with...if she were to go into labor at this point though he would not stop it.  I really think it will be any day now!  Who knows...we may have turkey babies!!! :)

Our next appointment is this coming Tuesday & we will be at 37 weeks, 3 days.  We are going to take ours and the babies bags on this next appointment just in case the doctor goes ahead & sends us on to the hospital for them to be delivered :)  We will make sure to keep you posted!

Thank you for all of your prayers!

Week 35!!!

We had a great appointment this week!  We have officially made it to 35 weeks!  So thankful that the babes have made it this far and are healthy and doing great!  They are still in the transverse position so as of right now the birth mother is going to have to have a c-section.  The doctor has not set a date yet but we start going to appointments every week now!  Please continue to pray for the birth mother and the babies, that they will continue to be healthy and safe.  Also pray that when the time comes that the delivery will go smoothly and both birth mother and babies are healthy...that the babies are fully developed & healthy and will not have to be in the NICU.

It really could be any day now!  We have our bags packed and the car seats in the car so we are ready to go when we get the call!  Dusty and I are just so excited and cannot wait to become parents to these two precious miracles!

This past weekend some of my best friends hosted a baby shower for us, it was incredible!  We are so blessed to have such amazing friends!  The shower was so much fun and we got some great stuff for the twins!  We are so grateful for all of the love & support that we have received and continue to receive throughout our adoption journey!

Our next appointment is this coming Tuesday...we'll be at 36 weeks and 2 days!  We'll let you know how the appointment goes!

Hope you have a great rest of the week!
